Counter Culture is about good things to eat in Edmonton. The name is a nod to the late, great food critic Jonathan Gold.  His column Counter Intelligence ran in publications like the LA Times and LA Weekly, and is the principal inspiration for my writing.

I’m Allan. I’m a Red Seal Chef and a Certified Chef de Cuisine.  I currently instruct in the Department of Culinary Arts and Professional Food Studies at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in Edmonton.
